The purpose of the calibrated equipment procedure is to define the activities and responsibilities needed in order to ensure that all inspection and test equipment used for product, service and process verification is controlled and calibrated against nationally traceable standards at specified intervals.

Application and scope

The calibrated equipment procedure has been developed to assist in meeting the requirements of Clause 7.1.5 of ISO 9001:2015 - Monitoring and measuring resources.

This procedure applies to all inspection and test equipment required for product, service and process verification in order to provide confidence that the testing equipment used to inspect or measure attributes of the design, is producing valid results to an acceptable level of accuracy.
