Where we came from

Downloads

We have grown from a small project started over 20 years ago by a group of like-minded, industry-based quality managers and audit professionals. Their vision was to help businesses implement their own management systems by taking advantage of their collective experience.

Our mission

As well as developing a range of management system templates for standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, our mission is to share our collective expertise and to inspire confidence that businesses can implement the standards' requirements, without using a costly consultant.

Our values

We have created a unique combination of complementary management system documents, guidance and support services that are envisioned and developed through four principle cornerstones that drive our business’s innovation; Knowledge, Standardisation, Assurance, and Compliance.

About the author

After studying Marketing and Law (BA Hons) at University, Richard Keen began his career in 2000; working in various quality assurance and quality control functions whilst participating in assurance driven, multi-disciplined rail infrastructure projects. Since 2016, I have focused on developing our management system templates and creating our website's guidance content.

I am a technically minded, process-driven individual who specialises in analysing, interpreting and reporting complex rail project domain knowledge to deliver technical assurance outputs, requirements engineering, and end-user-focused access and maintenance strategies.

My sixteen-year capital projects assurance experience is founded on implementing and maintaining detailed technical assurance regimes using the Project’s engineering standards and procedures as a framework to deliver verifiable assurance submissions for peer-review and client acceptance on the following rail infrastructure projects:

Design Assurance Manager (2013 to 2016) for Ove Arup on the Crossrail Project, including; Ilford and Plumstead Sidings, and Canary Wharf Station;

Assurance Engineer (2010 to 2013) for BAM Nuttall on the Neasden Train Depot Upgrade Project for London Underground;

Technical Manager (2008 to 2010) for Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering on the Kings Cross Station Northern Ticket Hall Project for London Underground;

Quality Coordinator (2005 to 2008) for Balfour Beatty Construction on the Stations Refurbishment Project for London Underground;

Technical Administrator (2000 to 2005) for McNicholas Plc on the Jubilee Line Upgrade Project for London Underground.

Key work experience includes the management of project risks, carrying out audits and inspections, validation of design assumptions, design requirements engineering, management of project interfaces and stakeholders, implementation of management systems, analysis of design proposals against acceptance criteria, and verification of compliance with baseline engineering specifications and standards.

The highlight of which included preparing and presenting a series of technically challenging multi-disciplinary Gate design submissions to client's Chief Engineers, their stakeholders, and various project interfaces.

How to apply the latest quality management principles

The latest and current quality management principles (QMPs), stated in ISO 9000:2015, are intended to provide the foundation by which any organisation can continually improve its performance.

You can learn to apply the latest quality management principles in the context of your business's own particular operations by reviewing and documenting its activities in the context of each quality management principle.
